Frequently Asked Questions
-
Therapy isn't only for moments of crisis. It can be a space to process difficult experiences, navigate life transitions, strengthen relationships, understand recurring patterns, or simply reconnect with yourself. If something in your life feels heavy, uncertain, or difficult to carry alone, therapy may be a supportive place to begin.
-
Your first session is an opportunity for us to get to know one another. We'll explore what brings you to therapy, learn about your experiences and goals, answer any questions you have, and begin creating a plan that feels aligned with your needs. There is no expectation to share everything at once. We move at a pace that feels safe for you.
-
We thoughtfully match clients with a therapist based on their concerns, goals, preferences, cultural background, and the areas in which each clinician is skilled in. We also ensure that there is energetic alignment between therapist and client. Our goal is to help you feel supported from the very beginning.
-
We provide both telehealth and in-person services, allowing clients to meet with their therapist from the comfort and privacy of their own space or within the privacy of our office. Our clinicians are licensed to work with clients in New York and other states where they hold licensure.
-
No. Our clinicians are Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) and do not prescribe medication. If medication is something you'd like to explore as part of your care, we're happy to collaborate with your primary care provider or refer you to a psychiatrist or other qualified medical professional for an evaluation.
GETTING STARTED
-
We work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, identity exploration, life transitions, stress, burnout, generational trauma, nervous system regulation, and personal growth. These are not the only concerns, but what most of our clients come in for. Our approach is integrative, meaning we care for the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms.

You don't have to figure it out alone. Our team is happy to help you explore your options and determine which service or therapist may be the best fit for your needs.
-
Finding the right therapeutic relationship matters. If something doesn't feel aligned, we'll work with you to explore another clinician within our practice whenever possible.
FINDING THE RIGHT FIT
-
Not necessarily.
We don't believe the goal of therapy is to eliminate every uncomfortable feeling. Instead, therapy helps you understand your experiences, strengthen your relationship with yourself, and develop the capacity to navigate life with greater awareness, flexibility, and self-compassion.
-
There is no one-size-fits-all timeline. Some people come for support through a specific season of life, while others choose longer-term therapy to continue deepening their self-understanding and personal growth. Together, we'll regularly revisit your goals and adjust your care as your needs evolve.
