I'm a Mother, Writer, Therapist & Healer
A Bit About Me
I was born and raised in Midtown Manhattan. I am the eldest and only daughter of Ghanaian parents who migrated to the US in 1968, during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. I've always felt a special connection to Spirit and a calling to heal people.
As a child, I remember having immense care and a desire to heal souls who were hurting. Despite my interest in Psychology, I later decided to pursue a career in Film Production. My goal was to enhance the world's condition by producing inspirational and educational content. After ten years of climbing the production ladder, living in Los Angeles, and working on various film and television projects, I felt unfulfilled. As a result, I returned to New York to pursue my original love of Psychology at Columbia University; a place where I walked the same halls my mother scrubbed two decades earlier as a housekeeper. Little did I know that Spirit was bringing me home for more than just that.
My world was turned upside down four years later when my mom suddenly died. I learned of God's healing power through those darkest days of my life. Today I can say that I am stronger and am incredibly
grateful to be able to spend every day of those last years with her.
I can still remember her smile at my graduation.
Since graduating, I've used my gift in various settings, such as schools, community agencies, and private practice. Additionally, I've obtained my Spiritual Coaching certification to incorporate this into my work with clients.
I have found that many agencies fail to include this essential aspect, undermining the healing power of the mind, body, and soul connection. My work's purpose is to help individuals reconnect to their soul, source, and authentic selves. Using compassion, creativity, and consistency, I will guide you on a journey back to yourself and uncover your magic.
As an African-American psychotherapist, I understand the importance of incorporating spirituality into my work, especially with Black and Brown clients. It is our culture, our strength, and our history. Spirituality has been
our anchor as we navigated the troubled waters of oppression. Spirituality is the relationship to source, our truths, and that still voice that guides us home.
As your therapist and guide, I will ask you the hard questions and be the vessel to lead you toward:
the answers and rest you seek.
