About Me

I am a licensed School Counselor and on my way to becoming a licensed Mental Health Counselor. Born in the Bronx and raised in Washington Heights, I am a first-generation son to two Dominican immigrant parents. Within the community I grew up in and currently serve, I have faced many challenges. From a young age, I had a curious mind and wanted to learn more about the things that make us who we are. Although my parents worked together, I was often placed in a position to take care of my two sisters and mom.

After college, I lost one of my best friends and it ultimately changed my life forever. I found out about the challenges he faced and wanted to do some soul-searching of my own when it came to what I wanted to do in life. I had felt a need to give back to my community and help those with everyday challenges. Since then, I have helped give back through the educational system and have worked with young students as a School Counselor.

Through therapy, I learned how important it is to have a healthy support system and to have those whom you could go to whenever in need. I believe that it is in my soul, and in my DNA, to be a therapist and explore ourselves on a spiritual level. We all come from different parts of the world, yet we are all one:

Humans at the end of the day.

I help children and adolescents adjust through challenging and difficult life transitions.

My goal is to offer children & adolescents a therapeutic environment where they can feel free to be themselves and communicate the things they may otherwise keep inside.

I will:

  • Meet them where they are and work on developing their trust

  • Support them as they develop their unique understanding of their journeys and experiences

  • Help them feel cared for, respected, and validated so that they may feel confident in embodying who they truly are

  • Honor their autonomy and let them direct our time together in the most helpful way to them and at their speed

  • Provide empathic direction and guidance when needed
